ADVENT 2025
WEEK 1 – HOPE
Reader 1: As we enter this Advent season, we light a candle of hope. (Light the Hope candle) This does not represent a shallow optimism, but a hope rooted in the God who has drawn near to us in Jesus Christ. As we wait for His coming, we remember Paul’s words in Ephesians 4:4-6
“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”
Reader 2: Advent reminds us that our hope is not lonely; we wait together. We belong to one body, united by one Spirit. Even when our world feels divided, God gathers His people into a unity deeper than our differences—a congregation formed by Christ Himself.
Reader 1: This unity strengthens our hope. Because we have one Lord, our future is secure. Because we share one faith, we encourage one another. Because we have one God and Father of all, we are never alone in our waiting.
Reader 2: And so, we choose to live as people of the same promise, the same grace, and the same hope. We wait and watch for the coming King…and we hold one another up as we wait.
ALL:
Lord Jesus, in this season of Advent, make us one in hope and one in faith. Draw our hearts together as we await Your coming. Amen.
