March 15 Day 9
Psalm 25:4
“Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths.”
REFLECTION
As Christians, we believe that this life is a journey home, where Christ has prepared a place for the faithful in eternity. The question is, how will we travel through this world? There are many paths to choose from, whether our days are long or short; only one leads us away from destruction.
The path is narrow and the gate small that leads to real life…and few will find it. The first step in discovering the way of Jesus is acknowledging our need for a Savior and a righteous way to follow. Admitting that our heart is divided, seeking both God and the things of this world, opens our eyes to our spiritual poverty and opens our ears to hear the Word.
How easily we stray from the narrow path, even after God reveals it to us! It takes commitment and discipline to stay the course…and both come from God as gifts of grace. Thanks be to God for a righteous path to follow and a faithful Shepherd, Jesus the Christ, to lead us.
PRAYER: We are lost, Lord. Like lambs that have wandered from your flock, we are at risk of destruction in the wilds of this world. Shine your light on your path to righteousness and let us submit to Jesus as our guide home. Your ways lead to life and your paths are true. Give us faith to seek you first, and only, for Christ’s sake. AMEN
